So here's a couple tips to help make your first purchase through the Hotel Calaveras Gift Shop an informed one! This guide isn't based on anything except my own experience shopping for clothes online, so please, do your own research as well.

Tip #1: Measure a shirt you already have!

Go to your local crafts store and purchase a soft tape measure at least 60 inches long. Then take your best fitting T-Shirt BEFORE WEARING IT, lay it on a flat surface and take measurements as shown in the Size Guide on the product page (Located above the size selection). This should give you the necessary measurements to compare against the size chart.

If you don't have a measuring tape or don't have a decent shirt to compare with. Consider visiting your local clothing shops and trying on clothes similar to the ones listed in the Hotel Calaveras Gift Shop, and mark down what size fit best!

Tip #2: Make sure it's the right Fit for you!

When you look at popular online clothing shops, you'll notice some products are marked "Relaxed Fit" or "Regular Fit". When shopping for Clothing, the "Fit" indicates the body type the Product was built for, here's a quick breakdown of each Fit available in the Hotel Calaveras Gift Shop:

(Men's) Relaxed Fit: Relaxed fits are generally boxy, with a straight  cut from chest down. Our relaxed fit also features an extended length for a laid-back feel. Relaxed Fits are good for broad builds and fits loosely on average to narrow builds. Those with narrow builds may need to go a size down to avoid a floaty feel and excess fabric on the sides.

Unisex/Regular Fit: A shaping cut that is slightly tapered from the chest down. Good for average builds, but can run small on Broad builds and slightly loose on smaller Feminine builds. Those with broad builds should go up a size to avoid a skin-tight fit.

Women's Fit:  All of our Women's Clothing are built from the ground up for Feminine builds. Featuring a shaping cut that narrows slightly at the waist and flares out at the lower portion to accommodate wider hips. They're also all relaxed fits, so the average Feminine build should fit just about right and smaller builds will find it fits little loose.

Tip #3: Material means more than you think!

On the Hotel Calaveras Gift Shop, you'll notice I included the Material of the Clothing in the title (i.e 100% Cotton) and text about the feel of the fabric. It isn't just for flavor text, picking the right material is important for comfort! Here's a breakdown of the Materials in the clothing we offer.

100% Ringspun Cotton: The gold standard for T-Shirts. 100% Cotton gives you peace of mind knowing you're wearing an organic material against your bare skin and the Ringspun manufacturing process results in a strong, yet soft and breathable weave perfect for all-year activities. Cotton clothing does shrink on wash and can become ruined if not dried properly. So for long-lasting 100% Cotton clothing, Wash on Cold setting and Tumble Dry on low heat! Turning the shirt inside out will also help preserve the Graphic Design!

Cotton/Poly: Cotton/Polyester blends are created by weaving Synthetic Fibers with Standard Cotton to create a fabric that feels like 100% Cotton, but is cheaper to manufacture. However, those with sensitive skin may find Polyester irritating to the touch and you'll heat up faster due to Polyester's non-breathable nature. But Cotton/Poly blends are popular in today's fashion for their wide range of colors, heat retention on a cold day and ultra soft feel when fleeced or heathered. Just like it's all cotton counterpart, it's highly recommended that you turn it inside out before washing to preserve the Graphic Design, then Wash on Cold setting and Tumble Dry on Low Heat.
